Technology in Action

My Notebook No Comments

Sometimes, I get so overwhelemd about the different ways that gadgets work to improve human life. Technology is behind every small convenience that we enjoy today…. the coolness of my airconditioned room, the pleasure of watching American Idol on television and even just typing on a keyboard. Luckily for the lot of us, we simply have to enjoy the finished products and never have to worry about what makes our devices and gadgets work.

The only time we need to know the intricacies of technology is when we want a project done. So many engineering experts are available for special projects, but there are only a few who could boast of being effective and reliable enough to branch out in other countries.

This advertiser, ESD electronics, started out as an engineering firm in Hannover, Germany during 1984. Their roster of able employees comprise 45 engineers and tech support staff. ESD in the USA was established during 2004 to give way for mmore expansion and to continue providing quality service to a bigger market.

Customer projects have been the thrust of this company for a time before developing their own line of products, including CAN interfaces and gateways, and VMEbus/cPCI/PC104 interface boards. They developed their own drivers to support their hardware products, and these drivers are made specifically for various real time operating systems, such as VxWorks, QNX and more, but also for all Windows versions, including Windows RTX, and LINUX.

Thoughts on Being Thrown in the Middle of Nowhere

The Amazing Race Asia 3 is just about to start! It really gives me the creeps sometimes, how teams get thrown in the middle of nowhere with strange people and even stranger cultures. But, of course, this is the essence of any “adventure”, to get a bit uncomfortable and react accordingly. That’s probably the reason why all revius contestants, after they have been forced to live out of their comfort zones for a while, tell the camera right after… “This is the best adventure of my life! I found myself and my partner’s strengths through this race” or something similar.

Still, a big city can be intimidating. Maybe my idea of an adventure in new york isn’t riding a public bus and getting confused at a strange map, but rather getting on board one of my sponsor’s buses, charter bus nyc ,and just enjoying the view… perfectly content that the whole tour group is going somewhere that’s pre-determined as a part of a simple itinerary.

Lol. Yeah, I know. It isn’t much of an adventure, but it’s better than spending the whole day following reed thin lines on a street map, or asking equally confused tourists about which building is which, or more eerily, looking for a vacant phone cubicle to call 911. “Please help a lost tourist” … :D

Australasia Dream Vacations | Best of New Zealand

My Notebook, Whimsical No Comments

If I’m going to plan a vacation for the end of the year holiday season, it’s going to be in New Zealand. The place is amazing, and if the former travellers there weren’t even remotely kidding, the Auckland Hotels are simply divine. The weather is breezy and the myriad of activities to partake in are numerous and varied. A whole month and one may still have things that they haven’t covered in their itineraries.

Some hotels there are equally amazing, including Christchurch Hotels and Wellington Hotels.

What to do in New Zealand

The stunning landscapes that will make photohunting a breeze; lush vegetation to make you feel like you are in an undisturbed land where virgin forests are not myths but reality; and diverse and other-wordly wildlife make this place a must-visit.

If for some reason, the distinctive fauna of the country will not keep ou spellbound for well over a few weeks, you can always go biking all over the place, kayaking, rapeling, and shopping! Rare tribal finds are abundant and fashionable living here is easy, even for tourists.
