There’s a Jelly Bean For Everybody….

My Songs No Comments

If you remember the song ‘Fruitcake’ by the Eraserheads, they talked about having at least one fruitcake for everyone they know. The song went like this:

There’s a fruitcake for everybody
There’s a fruitcake for everyone
There are b-sides to every story
If you decide to have some fun

Fruitcakes are fun, but I found one other food group (yes, it’s a food group) that better represents the differences in people, and how unique and special each one can be….. Jelly beans! It’s kinda fun to replace the ‘fruitcake’ in the lyrics above to ‘jelly bean’. Try it!

So what are the types of Jelly Beans I like? Here are some of them and the corresponding group of people I associate them with:

White Jelly beans are for my older friends who somehow always manage to provide the best advice on everything. They are pure at heart and will always want the best for me.

Pink Jelly beans are for my girl friends who never run out of fabulous stories in game and off game, and who always managed to share the juiciest tidbits about other people. They are well represented with the pink color because with them my day is always rosy.

Blue Jelly beans are for my Hardy boys friends like ricopola who are nice guys but a little naughty too. They can be fun and warm but always green, I mean blue.

Multicolored Jelly Beans areĀ  for all the people I met online through RO and for people I met offline like my officemates. They are so varied but unique in their own ways.

Remembering the Old Bands

My Songs No Comments

Does anyone remember the 90’s when the alternative bands were the craze? The whole music scene then was buzzing with new bands that fans adored. People lined up for tickets in concerts if these were still available (they were almost always sold out).

I have been a fan of bands for as long as I can remember. Some of the bands that I love are now gone, and their members pursuing solo careers. The newer bands now are ok, but somehow I miss the edginess and the hard music of the old bands. The fashion scene then also depended on the rock culture. Tee shirts that sported band logos dominated the mall stalls. I particularly loved the boots worn with jeans, and the baseball caps that also showed the logo of the different bands.

one of these bands that I worshipped before is Red Hot Chilli Peppers or RHCP. I used to surf the net trying to find the lyrics of their many songs. Red Hot Chilli Peppers lyrics are still available. There are even Red Hot Chilli Peppers Guitar Tabs that are available online. And, if you are a hardcore musician, or a member of a band yourself, Red Hot Chilli Peppers Bass Tabs are for you.
