Company Brands: First Impressions Last
July 27, 2008 8:23 pm My NotebookI have been looking at an advertiser’s Marketing Company site and the main focus was getting your point across, preferably in 30 seconds or less. Marketing has always been fun to learn, and even without a whole college degree related to the topic, one can use common sense to grasp the concepts.
Every person is a potential buyer, you just have to tell them what you are selling so that they know. I’ll give an example. For instance, my main interest is girl baby stuff, so if I encounter a website that is done in blue or dark colors, I won’t immediately get that they are selling girl baby things right? I won’t even bother to read the text, I just glance around and voila, I decide whether or not I should spend more time there.
Like in real life, first impressions last over the net. Sometimes, we are simply surfing sites because we want to find stuff, and then get disappointed when it seems that no company is selling what we want. They could be, but we did not look hard enough to read the fine print. We just view the logo, the colors and move on if we aren’t satisfied.
